Weeks 7-8 Recap
Odell’s Rusty Hip
She finishes Split 4 undefeated, continuing her streak to 5. In a 3-way tie for first, she looks like the strongest team in the field, but she has some superteams to deal with. With the deadline looming, will she make any other moves? Or is this the final product we’ll see in the postseason? Regardless, she is well on her way to being a juggernaut this year.
Peytons Forehead Shiner
Another string of mediocrity plagues the former champion. His playoff hopes continue to dwindle, yet he still remains difficult competition for his fellow leaguemates.
Suh-Tang Clan
After Split 4, the free fall continues. A 3-1 start through 2 splits had us thinking the rookie would secure a playoff bid in his first season. Since then, 4 consecutive losses and a host of injuries keep him 2+ games out of playoff contention. With half of his roster on bye for the first week of Split 5, it may be time to declare his team out of the running.
Pull the lever Gronk
It appears the Scarlet Witch has pulled the wrong lever, sending her team into basement along with her mother and sibling. At this point, she’s looking to break her 6-game losing streak against her own partner. Luckily for her, he has a slew of bye weeks to deal with. The beatings will continue until morale improves.
Sledge Hammer
Thanos has been exhumed from his crushing defeat in the 2021 championship, but for how long? Impressively enough, he’s likely locked up a 2022 playoff spot. Split 5 gives him an opportunity to gain a position and avoid playing the #1 seed. Unfortunately, this may only change which Medina he succumbs to in the postseason. Watch this manager closely.
Bradshank Redemption
Bradshank finished Split 4 at 1-1, trying to salvage what has been a difficult start. While there’s always still a chance she can redeem her season, she faces the top 5 managers in over the rest of the regular season, giving her the toughest strength of schedule moving forward.
Is This Soccer
In the second matchup of Split 4,ITS finally broke out with the highest scoring performance of the season. His roster is certainly capable of doing great things, but he’s been incredibly pedestrian up until this point. If he’s able to continue this hot streak, he may be able to make himself an odds-on favorite in the playoffs. However, he’ll have to fight to keep his spot as he faces playoff teams in Split 5.
