SPLIT 2 RECAP (WEEKS 3 & 4)
PARODY? No, parity. With 4/8 managers holding identical record after one month of play, we’re hoping to see some separation to provide us with a more clear picture of what’s to come.
Odell’s Rusty Hip
CURRENT RECORD: 4-0
The reigning, defending, undisputed champion is still undefeated. This makes 16 consecutive wins, the longest streak in league history by a massive margin, and one that we’ll never see broken. While Thanos may have had a dynasty, he was never able to put together this kind of production dominance in the regular season.
She continues down her path of destruction in Split 3. If we’re going to be overwhelmed by her everlasting light, we might as well enjoy the warmth whilst we burn.
TEAM G-MEN
CURRENT RECORD: 1-3
The GMEN are losers of consecutive games. Much like his namesake, this has been quite a fall from grace given his success last season and pre-draft outlook.
He faces a winless manager and 2nd place this split. There’s hope to make a comeback to an even record with some luck. If not, we’re in for a disappointing follow-up to his 2022 campaign.
SLEDGE HAMMER
CURRENT RECORD: 2-2
After 2 consecutive losses, Thanos narrowly escaped a 3rd straight defeat in Week 4, moving to .500 on the year. With his roster looking much weaker compared to other contenders, a good stroke of luck at the right times has kept him competing despite a decimated RB room.
He’s managing to keep it together, though that may soon change. He’ll have his toughest 2 splits of the season coming up back-to-back. This is his greatest chance to prove he’s not a paper tiger, and still the Thanos of old.
IS THIS SOCCER?
CURRENT RECORD: 2-2
More of the same follows Is This Soccer in Split 2, but that’s not bad. Though he’s at .500, that’s good enough for a playoff spot at this current junction. With a lot of good selections down the board panning out, he really needs his elite talent to start producing as such, as it’s currently holding him back from reaching his ceiling.
This Split will be important for him to try and make a more secure position in the standings.
BRADSHANK REDEMPTION
Current Record: 2-2
Bradshank continues to put up solid performances, going 1-1 on Split 2. She’s not exactly putting up big numbers, though it’s enough to pick up a pair of wins in the first month of the season.
With Ekeler hopeful to return in the 2nd week of Split 3, it should give her that extra firepower needed to beat some of the more elite managers ahead of her.
SUH-TANG CLAN
CURRENT RECORD: 3-1
Unsurprisingly, we’re seeing a 2nd year breakout from the new manager. His draft was quite exceptional (save for his QB room) and he’s made his mark thus far, sitting squarely in second place.
He heads into Split 3 facing rather light work all things considered, having the combined win total of the two managers he’ll face. As the clear favorite in both, he’s provided an opportunity to be 5-1 in our next write-up.
PEYTONS FOREHEAD SHINER
CURRENT RECORD: 2-2
Despite putting up decent numbers in Week 3, he came out on the wrong side of several AFC East performances.
In Week 4, he came back to life, absolutely dominating from the get-go and putting up a season high score. This is more of what we expect from him moving forward. Facing 1st place next split, now is his chance to prove himself as a contender.
PULL THE LEVER, GRONK!
CURRENT RECORD: 0-4
Oh boy, here we go. There’s really no team building failures here, it’s purely just injuries, which contributed to her struggles last year as well; winning 2 of her last 19 matchups dating back to last season.
Make no mistake, this was a Top 3 team on paper post-draft. She’s against another injury riddled squad with its fair share of Bye-Weeks. She has a great chance at securing her first win of the season.
