PHASE 6: ONCE AND FOR ALL

A Vision of Glory vs The Will of Iron

Peyton makes a comeback for the ages to stave off an upset while Suh-Tang rolls the defending champion. The Phase 6 finale is here; and it’s a rubber match. The best of 3 is decided here and now. Will Suh-Tang springboard this dominant performance to his first SFI Championship? Can Peyton win his 10th straight and capture his 2nd championship? The road ends here.

2023 SFI Championship Finals

#1Peyton’s Forehead Shiner (11-3) vs #2 Suh-Tang Clan (10-4)

After a third of a roster went down in the first week of the semifinals, things looking grim for the former champion heading into Week 2 behind 20 points.

When the night was darkest, a pack of Lions came in to defend their owner, putting up 85 points between just the trio in his first game of Week 2. Despite the rest of his roster struggling to pick up the pace, Peyton managed to stay ahead of Dr. Strange and wouldn’t give up the lead despite his best efforts of a comeback attempt, sealing the victory by less than 6 points.

No gods, no masters, only the King remains.

His 3rd championship game in 4 seasons awaits.

Suh-Tang rode the white lightning all the way to the championship, thrashing the reigning champion by over 100 points.

This becomes his toughest test yet as he takes on a manager that’s already been to 2 SFI Championships. With 9 consecutive wins under his opponents belt, he will have to pull out all the stops with the firepower at his disposal to become victorious.

Peyton isn’t in underdog status, though more will certainly need to go right for him to win. Suh-Tang deserves a slight edge in the penultimate game of Phase 6.

2023 Medina Mojito Cup

#3 Odell’s Rusty Hip (9-5) vs #4 Is This Soccer (8-6)

The Rusty Hip will not get the chance to defend her crown in the 2023 Finals. If it’s any consolation, there’s truly nothing she could have done to shelter herself from the storm that was Suh-Tang.

Regardless, making the playoffs despite her missing draft picks is commendable in it’s own right. She takes on a team she swept in the regular season, although times may have changed.

A devastating defeat will once again leave him out of the last dance. With an opportunity to capitalize on a slew of in-game injuries to Peyton, he missed the championship by less than a touchdown.

In a game that he was the underdog by more than 60 points through 2 weeks, he deserves his flowers for making this as competitive as it was. He looks to carry the positive outings of R1 into a 3rd Place finish against the 2022 Champion.

Being that these two managers are trending in opposite directions, Odell’s Rusty Hip has earned the nod as the favorite in this matchup.

2023 Linda Kay Cheezit Bowl

#5 Sledge Hammer (7-7) vs #7 Pull The Lever, Gronk! (4-10)

Following a closer than expected encounter in his victory against the GMEN, Thanos takes on a manager he faced off against in the 2021 postseason. He’ll be looking for the same result as he chases the #1 Overall selection.

With a plethora of points to spare on her bench, she made quick work of Bradshank Redemption in round 1 of the consolation bracket. The difference between the 1st and 4th pick in the 2024 draft is on the line. She takes on the 3x Champion.

SFI Consolation Bracket

#6 Bradshank Redemption (4-10) vs #8 Team GMEN (3-11)

Bradshank had some solid outings. However, her daughter pulled out all the stops, defeating her in Round 1.

She won’t have a chance at the #1 Pick, which may be a blessing in disguise. She takes on an inferior GMEN in the final consolation match.

The GMEN managed to put up a better fight than expected in Round 1. He’ll need the result to boot facing off against Bradshank.
