2021 Week 1 Results & Discussion
TAKE YOUR PROJECTED RANKINGS FROM THE SEASON PREVIEW AND PROMPTLY THROUGH THEM INTO HELMS DEEP THIS WEEK, AS THE BOTTOM 3 TEAMS ARE THE TOP SCORERS TO OPEN THE YEAR.
1. Odell’s Rusty Hip
While she may be the Rusty one, CMC wasn’t finishing as RB1 despite not having a TD in Week 1. Some massive performances from Hill and Dak elevated ORH this week. A few duds prevented her from really shining the week, but a respectable week nonetheless from the favorite.
2. PEYTON’S FOREHEAD SHINER
Some Kyle Shanahanigans prevented Peyton from being the #1 scoring team this week, but a 200+ point week still commands some eyes from seemingly the deepest roster in the league. He’ll look to improve his stature in Week 2, as a great week still feels like it’s short of expectations.
3. Is This Soccer?
This week was a major implosion from the boy across the pond, with only 2 combined points from his QB duo and only 1 performance over 20 points. This places him behind the curve significantly. However, it’s only week 1, and a few changes at the QB position can put him right back in contention.
4. Sledge Hammer
This week couldn’t have gone any worse for the holder of the Infinity Gauntlet. While it’s hard not to overreact, we’re only in Week 1. Having no 20 point performers really hurt his overall production. He’s 80 points + out of playoff contention, but there’s still no reason to panic…yet.
5. Pull the Lever, Gronk!
“You get a Gronk spike! You get a Gronk spike! Everyone gets a Gronk spike!”
A 230 point performance puts our 2nd year darling in a prime position to make her mark this season. There’s no flip-side of this coin, no caveat; just watch and enjoy the onslaughts to come.
6. Bradshank Redemption
We spoke about the boom-or-bust potential of this roster in the season preview; we got the BOOM this week. Less than 2 points from first place, Bradshank came out swinging for the fences this week. If she can build off of this momentum, catching her is going to be a difficult feat.
